Chapter Philanthropy

"To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand..."

Giving back to a community that has given us so much is something that Rho Eta holds high in their everyday life. Many of our lives have been touched by our local philanthropy, Helen Devos Children’s Hospital, and national philanthropy, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Throughout the past year, our efforts have grown tremendously as we have added many new events to our schedule. 

In the Fall of 2014, the women of Phi Mu-Rho Eta put on a first annual event, called the Miles for Miracles 5K. This event helped to raise money and educate community members, students, and staff about Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Sisters spent countless hours collecting donations, finding entertainment, visiting chapters to promote the event, doing community and Grand Valley public relations, and working with the hospital to promote Miles for Miracles 5K. In Fall 2016, the women of the Rho Eta Chapter of Phi Mu raised over $32,00 for the Helen Devos Children's Hospital!
